Do you worry that you are being judged all the time?
Are you immediately defensive if anyone criticises or challenges you?
Do you feel you’re indecisive when a situation requires you to determine a course of action?
Do you feel you always need the support or others before making a decision?
These are typical signs that you are struggling with confidence or self-esteem.
Lack of confidence or self-esteem is not inherited, it is learned, often from a young age.
It has a profound effect on the choices you make and determines what you consider yourself capable and worthy of doing.
What is self esteem?
It is having confidence in one's own worth or abilities; self-respect.
It is how you feel about yourself and how you judge your worth.
It means that you can confidently handle tasks efficiently and effectively.
Knowing that you have the skills to approach someone in a social or professional environment and hold a conversation.
Knowing that you can meet the challenges in the workplace or at home knowing you have the capability to deal with them.
What would life be like if you knew you had the confidence to be able to approach someone. Can you imagine how you would project yourself as a confident person with strong self-esteem? What would your posture look like? Would your shoulders be hunched over, your arms be crossed, your eyes lowered? Or would you be standing straighter, your arms relaxed and be able to make eye contact with the other people you wish to interact with?
If some of these points resonate with you, there is a question I’d like you to consider: What is causing you to have a lack of self-esteem?
My second question to you is: Can you imagine how much brighter your life would be if you could live your life with a strong sense of self-esteem?
Can you imagine if you could value your time and your self-worth, what lifestyle you could be living?
What would it be worth to you to know you have got this right now?
